The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) had recently launched a remarkable scheme that had captured the attention of real estate enthusiasts across the region. This fantastic opportunity involved allocating plots for independent houses near the upcoming Noida International Airport, and the response had been nothing short of overwhelming.
In just a span of three weeks, the scheme had taken the real estate market by storm. More than 173,000 individuals had eagerly registered on the portal, all vying for a chance to secure one of the limited 1,184 plots on offer. The enthusiasm was appreciable, with 123,000 people having purchased application forms online, 110,000 applications submitted, and an impressive 78,290 applicants taking the next step by paying a 10% earnest deposit. The application deadline had quickly approached, so if you had been considering this golden opportunity, that had been the time to act.
These residential plots had come in a variety of sizes, catering to different preferences and needs. Ranging from 120 to 2,000 square meters, the plots had been strategically located on Yamuna Expressway in Sectors 16, 17, and 20. The majority of available plots had been 200 square meters, totaling 466, followed closely by 260 plots of 162 square meters each. With such diversity, you had been sure to find a plot that aligned perfectly with your vision for your dream home.
The scheme, launched on August 8th, had offered these highly sought-after plots at a cost of Rs 24,600 per square meter. The allocation of these plots had been determined through a draw of lots scheduled for October 18th. For those who had already paid earnest money, there had been an added advantage in the allocation process. Arun Vir Singh, CEO of YEIDA, had expressed his excitement over the remarkable response, noting that this had been a historic moment for YEIDA, with the highest number of applications ever received.
The Noida International Airport had been a major catalyst in driving interest in the housing plots around the Yamuna Expressway. The construction progress witnessed the previous year had created a ripple effect, sparking interest and igniting the real estate market. In October 2022, YEIDA had received an astounding 64,000 applications for 477 residential plots across five sectors, showcasing the growing interest in the area.
Gone were the days when investment in housing plots was met with indifference. The shift in sentiment could be attributed to the strategic location of the airport, which had become the centerpiece of the ecosystem. With the airport acting as a hub of activity, concerns about distance from Noida and lack of development in the area had become a thing of the present.
It hadn’t just been the airport that had drawn attention. The plans for infrastructure projects, such as the Apparel and Medical Device parks, along with the proposed Film City, had contributed to the surge in interest in the residential sectors along the expressway. These projects had promised to create a vibrant and dynamic community, making the decision to invest in these plots an even more compelling one.
