Declared as “Nagar Nigam” on 26 Jan 2013, Kashipur is a small, beautiful city in the Udham Singh Nagar district of the Indian state Uttrakhand. Historically, Kashipur was known by the name “Govishana” during the age of Harsha. Much later, the city was named as Kashipur after the name of its founder Kashinath Adhikari. Some beautiful cities like Rampur, Haldwani and Rudrapur are located near Kashipur.
Kashipur lies close to the famous hill station Nainital and also to the Jim Corbett National Park. Besides these geographical benefits, Kashipur is in itself a famous tourist and excursion spot.
