Faridabad is a major city in the Faridabad district of the Indian state Haryana. It also happens to be the largest city of the state in terms of area. Historically, Faridabad was founded by Sufi Saint Baba Shaikh Farid in 1607 AD during the Mughal period. An important part of the Delhi NCR, Faridabad shares borders with Delhi towards its North, Gurgaon and Uttar Pradesh. Faridabad is also known for Nahar Singh Stadium, where the 2006 ODI was played between India and England and 18-Hole Aravali Golf Club, which is one of the oldest golf courses in India.
